There's a difference between layering and just glopping it on. do it in thinner layers and you'll have a better effect with faster dry time. I've seen 20 minute mud take 2 days to fully cure when you put it on that thick

A lesson in how to not cut drywall around a receptacle, how not to apply mud, that may shrink and crack when it dries. that's a quick fix turned into a long wait. paper tape would be good too.

Personally, if you're not in a hurry, I think you're fine.\nI just like the fact that you didn't pull out of four foot four hundred dollar trowel 😂 i know for a fact it takes a little finesse to drag that flat with a 12 inch knife. Thumbs up from me even though it's got a little mud on it
