working in the deli of a grocery store made me absolutely sick to my stomach! we had to weigh and mark everything* and throw it away if it didn't sell by the end of our shift. Disgusting.

when i was a lunch lady for the school system, all the food left over all goes in a waste box MIXED TOGETHER and thrown in the trash instead of packaging it up and letting the families who are food insecure have it,so much waste that they could have fed to the kids and their families smh

The grocery stores are tossing them out because people with food stamps can't buy them. I was at WinCo in Phoenix Az and this lady had a shopping cart 🛒 full of groceries deli food 🍱 that was already prepared, JUST READY TO EAT. Found out at the register those type of food aren't on the approved food list. I thought food is food. She was so mad she couldn't buy HOT CHEETOS 😂😂😂

that's poor management right there, over stocking is why another reason why cost increases 😳 liability is the fact why they can't donate or give it away, vut the waste is reason to fire the management

our system is such that we do this, so people can't sue. it's all designed to benefit big business. they will be reimbursed by their insurance.. unlike you if you're sick

Blame insurance companies! I worked at a grocery store and when our power went out we called the Red Cross and gave them our entire perishable departments! Tens of thousands! My manager got suspended and nearly fired for it. Because insurance companies make them do this! They are pure evil!
