Since I have unlimited money and resources for transport, I would put it inside a massive vault in an abandoned oil rig in the middle of the pacific. No one around. I would have to pay to retrieve it after but it would be only a tiny fraction of what the gold is worth so it’s a no brainer

well 500m in gold is approx 310 good delivery gold bars. they are large but not super large. it would however weigh 4 tonnes, which is super heavy. the task would be impossible with only 24hrs prep time

Only your local town knows, and they’re told it’s nearby. You’re not limited to hiding it nearby. Literally Just take it far away. They will think it’s nearby and tear everything apart while your gold sits safely hours away.
