It’s gender locked because it’s a ton more money to make a male version, plus the devs can release a male version hero skin for money, it’s just greed and budget that makes them be gender locked.

her character is based around "sukeban" which was an anti-conformist movement taken by women in japan around the 1960s-1970s where they would dress and act in ways that were traditionally masculine as a way to rebel against japans oppresive gender norms and social expectations from that time so arakure being a man doesnt make sense for this fo work

with unmasked heroes its a bit harder i imagime bc theyd have to do double the work on making detailed faces, more VAs, make sure facial animations work, and unmasked heroes nowadays have also almost different have fully different faces and then theyd need to double that work for the other gender, now normally it wouldnt be that much of an issue but its ubisoft we are talkin about

they're gender locked because the size of the team that is behind for honor is small and doesn't have enough time or resources to make female and male versions of armor sets and voicelines

Gender locking characters is annoying because we used to be able to change them and I feel like i should beat able to change any of them as part of customization. I should be able to be a pirate man the same way i should be able to be big gal shugoki

I was disappointed when it was pirate, but some i understand like peacekeeper and shaman, hitokiri i think should be gender locked female but im okay with it not being just all my presets are except one which is just so to have one thats different. Ion know who all are male gender locked, gryphon? thats an actual lore character so it makes sense ig but i wouldnt mind there being a female variant, i don't know a reason uncle jj is gender locked

legit it's gender locked cos they are a small dev team and it's less work for them to make 1 set of armour. Also half the roster is gender locked dudes and no one complains about that

The weird thing is the game has had gender locked characters for longer than it didn’t! There are more gender locked characters than not, and because of this one dumb complaint we never actually get to talk about the fact that the new characters are releasing with a third of the customisation that old characters got, when they released characters every season
