Girl, do not let these people get you down. My goodness this is the first paycheck of your first job and you’re 17 - you’ve got time. This is GREAT practice for when you’re out on your own. It’s truly wonderful that you’ve started so young. And the people caught up about shopping? Please. The definition of shopping is “the act of visiting stores, websites, or markets to examine, compare, and purchase goods or services.” People assume you mean clothes and makeup but shopping is almost any purchasable item that doesn’t fit into the other envelopes. Those people need to calm down. You’re going a great job. ❤️

i just wanna say that although youre doing great with your budgeting, it would be smart to put everything youre saving into either a high yield savings or regular savings account so you can earn interest. sitting in the envelope it loses value
