@whereagaintravels: Masai Mara is home to an astounding number of lion prides for its size, making survival for cubs even more precarious. This female from the Rekero Pride was spotted in the early morning hours on a very special mission: moving her newborn cubs to a safer place. It is unusual to see cubs this tiny, perhaps only a week old, out in the open. But a mother’s instinct is the strongest in the animal kingdom and this lioness felt the urge to find better cover for her babies. We opted to stay on this sighting for only a brief moment, as giving newborn cubs space is vital to their wellbeing.
