Since most people seem to love downplaying her character to "she likes her brother", which isn't true... but we'll get to that later. She and Andrew were raised in a very neglectful home. Her mom had Andrew at 15 years old. A teenage pregnancy, basically.Andrew turned out fine. So, two years later, they thought they'd be fine with another kid too.But this time it was different.Ashley and Andrew's parents made it so that Andrew, Ashley's older brother, would take care of her from a young age.Because of this, she developed an attachment to her brother.
She didn't know that feeling that kind of attraction toward a sibling was wrong, because no one ever taught her.Even with the strong attachment from him being the only one who took care of her, that just made things worse.Ashley grew up learning that the only person who cared about her was her brother. So she wanted to "claim" him as hers. Now I'm gonna skip ahead a bit in time.Because of severe neglect and child abuse, you can imagine that neither of the siblings grew up to be what you'd call "good people".They were locked together in an apartment for months, with little to no food. And that just made them even closer.Ashley has a deep fear of abandonment when it comes to Andrew.
When Andrew got a girlfriend, Ashley threatened her in different ways through voice messages. That means Ashley really, really cares... whether Andrew is okay or not.She just wants him for herself. This shows how much a deep attachment can completely erase how you see a person. You start to only see them as someone who's there for you when you need them the most.Ashley doesn't care about Andrew as a person.she cares about Andrew's attention.
Her version of love is obsessive, possessive, and toxic.she doesn't even know how to act around other people, since she's only ever been around someone she was interested in.
