He's trying to keep the craft of movie making alive and he's now all of a sudden getting flamed bc people are just figuring out normal IMAX isn't 70mm yall are ridiculous. It's not like he decided 50 years ago there should only be 8 IMAX cameras and <2k IMAX theaters. Maybe blame IMAX

Imax rents its cameras for about $16,000 a week And they are insured for $1Million dollars I have a feeling that when Nolan calls they charge him more then $16,000 a week seeing how he broke 2+ of them the insurance cost must be way higher when he has them

Lack of cinemas capable of showing 70mm is the real problem that they dont seem to be addressing. Some of these screens claiming to be are laughable and arent worthy of the name.
