The disruption of this reflex, unless caused by a rare neurological injury, is due to mechanical imbalances acquired at birth (trauma during birth or absence of stimulations during a planned c-section). ⠀ 🔹 The palate position defines the suction tunnel thus the strenght of the vacuum effect. ⠀ 🔹 The first vertebra (C1) can disrupt the Vagus and Glossopharyngeal nerves that drive the latching reflex. ⠀ With osteopathy a proper latch is usually restored within the first session, and settles within two or three. 👐 ⠀ Were you told your baby had nipple confusion?
