They kept adding impossible to kill arcs unless you had some rare weapon, making it harder to focus on looting while trying to defend yourself from arcs and other players

The game didn’t die bc of any legit player, it died bc there was no late game, there wasn’t any reason to grind better guns, rat strats were too strong, the 3rd person angle made fights feel bad, and quests gave you everything you needed

This happens with every PvPvE game. It comes out and gains popularity with a fun gimmick, then sweats get too good at the game. PvE players try to play by themselves, but then get bored and leave. PvP players leave soon after once there’s no easy kills
