@thepsychologydropout: Most people think standing up for themselves means explaining more, getting louder, or proving they’re right. But every extra explanation gives the other person something to argue with. Real boundaries aren’t performances—they’re decisions. The more emotionally charged you become, the less authority you project. State the boundary. Pause. Let your actions carry the weight. No story. No defense. No emotional charge. Reasonable people adjust. Unreasonable people reveal themselves. #Psychology #BehaviorOpsManual #ChaseHughes #Boundaries #SelfControl
I stayed calm, silent, and invisible ad my narcissitic sister took over our family. NOW what?

Problem is, if you don’t stand up for yourself, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life. You can find another job or partner, etc. but when you don’t get treated with respect it destroys you. The number one reason for someone to leave our job or a partner is being treated with no respect.

The Highest Version Method™ :
A boundary you have to keep defending usually isn’t being respected, it’s being negotiated. Say it clearly once, then let your behavior prove you meant it. Self-respect gets stronger when your actions stop contradicting your standards.
