the entire list + more on how I’m layering my clothing for this trip!! 👇🏼 If you’re trying to figure out how to layer for different climates, here’s my go-to formula... For the top half, I start with a merino wool base layer (tshirt or long sleeve depending on conditions), then a fleece layer, a synthetic insulation layer, next is a down insulation layer, and finally a weather resistant shell ). For the bottom half, I start with merino wool leggings with hiking pants over those. I add a pair of down insulated pants, and then waterproof pants on top. From here you can add/subtract whatever you need as the temperatures change! At the coldest point of the trek, I’ll be wearing every single layer I have and will be prepared for whatever conditions come my way! THE LIST: Trek backpack Packable daypack Extra backpack (donation items) Impermo Shell Cotopaxi Fuego 2.0 puffer Cotopaxi Pacaya 2.0 Insulated jacket Cotopaxi Otero fleece zip Cotopaxi Tapasol sun hoodie Merino wool long sleeve Merino wool leggings Merino wool tshirt Merino wool socks (3) Hiking pants Sports bra (2) Waterproof pants Glove liners Mittens Buff Cotopaxi beanie Hat Flowy shorts & black tshirt (not for the trek) Trail running shoes Summit day shoes (needed warmer ones) Sandals - camp shoe Sleeping bag Pillow Trekking poles Nalgene Water bladder (3L) UL towel Kula Cloth Bandana First aid kit / meds Dry bags Glacier goggles Eyemask Earplugs Vitimans Kindle Portable chargers (3) Outlet converter (not for trek) Macbook (not for trek) Charging cords Hard drives + memory cards Sony A6700 camera Film camera + film Coros Nomad watch Noise cancelling headphones (not for trek) Toiletries (went bare minimum on these) Neck pillow (not for trek) Planner (not for trek) Copies of documents Electrolytes Granola bars Protein + shaker Sugary snacks #mountkilimanjaro #outdooradventures #tanzania #packwithme
