Worst port I have ever been to. I like to go out exploring on my own. Costa Maya is not the place to do this. Book an excursion and you should be fine from what I hear. I’ll give you a tip if you go out on your own the ice cream shop is the only public exit. Cost me a 10.00 can of coke to find this information.

Yep, happened to us in March. Didn’t try to sell us tickets but dropped us off 2 blocks further than the Krazy Lobster at a “better beach”

Yes there’s a scam , be aware take a taxi instead it’s only $20 pesos , I took a cab to the beach and they charge me $100 dolls for 5 people and they charge me to be on the beach while the beach was free this is the guy

A guy on the beach tried to take 3,800 cause my husband thought it was safe to use his card lol 🫣 He was buying something for $120 and 3,800 tried to be pulled. I told him I told you only cash lol

this is just about having awareness when traveling. no matter where you go, this can happen. I was in the navy for years and every port had some sort of scam.
