@v_i_c_xo: There’s so much more to just horse riding. People see the ride. They don’t see the hours of care behind it. Owning a horse is about responsibility, sacrifice, and putting their needs before your own. Riding is the reward—not the whole story. They don’t see the early mornings or the late nights. They don’t see the mucking out, the hay nets, the feed, or the endless checks to make sure everything is okay. They don’t see the rest days because your horse comes before your own wishes, or the vet visits, farrier appointments, dentist, physio, and vaccinations that you never miss. They don’t see you standing in the stable when they’re unwell, worrying more about them than yourself. They don’t see the money, the time, the exhaustion, or the sacrifices that come with loving a horse. So if someone wants to judge me by a few minutes in the saddle, that’s okay. Because I’d rather be remembered as someone who always put my horse first than someone who only cared about how they looked riding. At the end of the day, my horse doesn’t care if my position is perfect. He cares that he’s safe, fed, comfortable, listened to, and loved.
