..how can someone miss EVERY point? 😭 1- when she basically told him she was suffering his first thought wasn’t to cancel but alter the wish, which is SELFISH? 2- “she was at her worst yet he still didn’t do anything violent” yikes so we are pretending the blatant SA didn’t happen? 💀

Here’s the thing love, you took it a bit too litterally which is fine not everyone can and will dig deep. But I’m not gonna cuss you out, I will explain to you. The point of the movie is not the small horrifying thing that Nikki’s wish version does. It’s the fact that Bear took her free will, and she wished for something to happen which took over her body and mind and now she isn’t in control of herself anymore. Problem 2, there are BLATANT moments where Bear knows that Nikki’s possessed and chooses not to change anything. When he calls customer service and hears Nikki screeching and hangs up, when she tells him clearly "it’s me she’s sleeping just kill me" and he completely ignores her suffering by responding with "what’s so bad about being with me". At that point there is no excuse, he knows that Nikki’s inhabited by smth else but would rather keep her even if it’s against her own will than free her. That’s not love THAT’S obsession, he’s the one obsessed.

Are people forgetting the one wish willow stick thing is basically witchcraft, he asked for his wish and when he broke the stick the spell was casted into who or whatever he asked for which is done by a demon . She wasn’t herself, the demon was just following as commanded. Thats why when he said stay here dont do anything weird when he left the house she literally couldnt do anything but stand there , the demon was just listening to his commands, till he came home. She wasn’t obsessed with him the demon was possessing her.

i don’t get how people can say we can’t blame bear. the movie doesn’t show someone who never understands what’s happening it shows someone who keeps choosing not to face it. every time reality breaks through, he finds another excuse to hold onto the fantasy. other people can tell nikki isn’t herself, the phone call where he heard nikki scream with the “demon” possessing her and her literally being bloody by the door once he comes back. SHES FIGHTING AGAINST HER OWN BODY TRYING TO KILL HERSELF AND BE FREE. he keeps asking how the real nikki feels “is nikki happy?” because part of him already knows she’s trapped in there , and when she finally speaks to him directly and begs him to let her die, he doesn’t react like someone who’s just learned the truth. he asks, “what’s so bad about being with me?” that line says everything. he knows she’s suffering, but the possibility of losing her matters more to him than her freedom. i don’t think he’s some evil monster. but he is pathetic and tragic and does reflect a lot of guys. the tragedy is that he loves the idea of nikki more than nikki herself
