Paid cash and DIY’d our 50 person wedding, my 2013 car is paid off and I will drive it until I cannot anymore 😭, closed my accounts currently and only have one paid off credit card. I wish people knew how long it takes to get out of these debts - took me almost five years to get here

Balloon payments are not as bad as people make it out to be coming from someone who has 19 years experience in vehicle finance. If you planning on buying your vehicle and paying it off in full and never getting 1 again , then yes Balloon will not be advised. When you planning on upgrading a your vehicle after 4 or so years Balloon payment will work, why would you spend R6k for a vehicle unstead of R4k for example when you will planning to trade the vehicle for a new 1

my parents have a grand wedding (renewing vows) every three-four years that is very expensive but when they got married it was very small (they were 19 & 20) so you can always go all out when you can afford it
