I am also a Damara, that is very uncomfortable with speaking Afrikaans, because I'm not good at it. It's so stressful when people change the conversation to Afrikaans once I mention that I'm a Damara 😅🫠

People think Namas and Damaras are the same. Most of us damaras didn't grow up with Afrikaans. Afrikaans is mostly spoken by the Namas.
