I really don't understand people discrediting her success 😭. Alysa has podiumed at national and international competitions since she was quite young. In 2022, she was 7th (I think) in the women's single, the highest US place for USA skating, at least for women, in the Beijing Olympics. Returning from retirement is a feat in itself, especially to re-enter international levels. Just because there are people who are better does not mean she isn't INCREDIBLE. She's an OLYMPIAN who won gold and worked her ass of to do so while also repping mental health and individuality. Pretty damn impressive to me.

You will never convince me that the Russian girls weren’t all being doped. Something went wrong with Kamila’s test and got her caught. Back to Alysa, though - she had a 3a and a quad as a junior, but then matured into a woman’s body and lost them. I know she is working to get her 3a back. Quads in a fully developed female body are incredibly hard. Good for Sasha getting hers back, but she is very much exceptional (and I truly hope not doping with a young child at home)
