Because of this misconception I am conflicted about having her villains appear in media that has no connection to her. Like both Dr. Poison and Giganta appear in My Adventures with Superman. On one hand? Cool! They finally get recognition! On the other? Wonder Woman is nowhere in sight, so now I worry these characters will gradually be more recognized as Superman villains than Wonder Woman villains in the same way the Arkham games kinda tricked everybody into thinking Deathstroke is a Batman villain.

Wonder Woman really doesn't get the respect she deserves from the corporate side of things. She should have an animated show by now. she should have had a game by now. she should have at least enough movies that we discuss who out favorite portrayal is the way we do with Batman and Superman actors.

I feel like people overestimate the number of villains the average person can name off their head. I recently asked my four flatmates to name supervillains. And comic book supervillain. It took group work and five minutes for them to come up with a list.

She also redeems alot of her villains and she has an issue that alot of her early villains aged very horribly. Honestly apart from the specific grudge between superman and darksied MOST of the apocalypse villains should be treated as hers first. And I’ve said it before but people misunderstand the point of a rogues gallery with this “name five villains for this specific hero” bit. Some heroes, don’t need a rogues gallery, especially in marvel and dc where theres pre-existing villains that can be shared between multiple heroes. Green Arrow shares half his rogues with batman and green lantern villains are just other villains that happen to be active in space at that time

no one is saying she doesn't have a rogue's gallery, she clearly does. she doesn't have a good one. by good i mean villains who get under her skin and attack her morals and values, not her abilities. Superman has Lex Luthor, Batman/Joker/Two-face/Poison Ivy/Penguin... If you think of her most famous rogue, Cheetah...meh. Wonder Woman is faster (she can deflect bullets) and stronger. Why even have them fight? If any villains can come close to being formidable enemies of hers, they are Medusa (man eater), Dr. Pyscho (misogynist), Aries (war, not love, will save the world), but they are written as physical, not psychological, obstacles.
