Actually not drinking a lot can make your bladder worse. Being dehydrated makes your urine more concentrated which irritates the bladder and can make urge incontinence worse. Things also to avoid are alcohol, blackcurrant, citrus and caffeine. Spicy foods can also irritate the bladder. While you’re waiting for help have a look online at Bowel and Bladder UK for advice . Incontinence Choice sell a huge range of incontinence products much cheaper than supermarket prices.

You can get a card on the bladder and bowel community website that says you need the toilet due to medical reasons. I have it in my apple wallet in case people are funny with me x

Awwww bless you man, I really admire you for discussing this so openly. Do you think it would be worth mentioning to your GP/Urologist etc if it’s something related to your pelvic floor muscles malfunctioning/spasming if you haven’t already? Super random but I used to work in a smex store and I used to deal with a lot of women having amazing success with kegel balls for this issue in specific !! I really hope you get it sorted 🤞🏼

I struggle with urge incontinence since I was like 17, and honestly the doctors never really found out whats the problem. I feel your struggle with public toilets soo much🥲 by now i rely on adult diapers. Of course at first its so weird but i dont want to miss them ever again. its just such a relief to know youre protected just in case😅

I struggle with bladder incontinence and accidents, due to fibromyalgia. When I need to go, I’m going and also don’t get the sensation until it’s imminent. I’m having some bladder Botox and then something called sacral neuromodulation which is essentially a pacemaker for the bladder… ill come and let you know if they’re effective 🤞🏻 x

I think you are a massive inspiration and good luck with your treatment. My condition was not treatable unfortunately so have embraced diapers over accidents. Really struggled with acceptance and embarrassment at first but can honestly say it’s the best thing I ever did for my freedom and mental health. Have you ever tried diapers to save yourself from accidents and the need to always have a nearby toilet? I’m 36 for reference and would be happy to help with any product guidance and questions. I really hope you get treated and can manage happily on the meantime. Good luck and please do reach out if you’d like to chat.

I've just discovered you...I was exactly the same as a kid, I never got the signal as a kid and I've only recently started not to be embarrassed by being inconinent (it's someone else in the TikTok chronic illness community is out and proud of wearing adult diapers that inspired me)...I spent 20 + years of embarrassing situations, feeling lonely because of it. When i asked for help my GP, urnary nurse etc have shown me such dignity, helped my get a prescription for pads and made me feel normal... im so looking forward to seeing your journey xx

This is my story! Urge incontinence, I’ve not looked at your other videos, but I have an overactive bladder. I finally saw a urologist in my late-30s and had some pretty undignified tests and am now on the waiting list for a Sacral Nerve Modulation device, basically a pacemaker for my bladder.

Your thing probably is a combination of medical but the ADHD plays a big part due to something called interoception. I babysit for a little 9yr old boy with severe adhd. He is still in pull-ups. He has impaired interoception. He cannot feel when he needs the toilet. Some advice that we will be using for him in the future that I think would help you is: external timers, with ADHD your body doesn't tell you things, you need timers to help you, so maybe use your phone to set timers every 2hrs and try even if you don't feel like you have to pee. Also, he is on a VERY LONG wait list for OT as they can do exercises to help people become more aware of their body/bodily needs. He also has lots of other needs which I can tell you about if you want. I am also neurodivergent myself. I don't really have issues like this now but I do pee more frequently than other people, I think I'm like hyper-aware. As soon as I feel the slightest urge to pee, I go to the bathroom. I can go more in depth maybe on an email if you want/if I can so we can talk more about this.

you can get a card to show that if you need to use the toilet , you can show it at cafes, shops etc and they have to let you use the toilet, even if it's a staff toilet 🥰
