you figure it out through context clues. ruined portals exist giving you the shape of the portal, and the advancements help you understand its something done with obsidian and a flint and steel is used at some point to achieve it. you experiment and figure it out. same with the end but its even easier since the recipie book exists and its literally next to your crafting table menu everytime you open the crafting table. everytime you get a new recipie you get a notification for it showing things you can do with that thing you picked up and you can just look in the book itself and find stuff that you couldnt do before. this is genuinely a non issue.

ruined nether portal... I watched someone play through and beat Minecraft without any help on a live stream from the internet or the chat. he even summoned the wither just from seeing the painting and made another portal just from seeing the ruin portal

this is such a weird criticism in my mind cus Minecraft is not the only game that is made with the expectation that you will look stuff up, back when I played star dew for the first time I had the wiki up 24/7 and I heard the same for terraria
