@gamer_lafan: The King of Fighters 2003 was the last entry released on the Neo Geo platform, and NeoWave became the first KOF title to move to the Atomiswave hardware. It feels like SNK made it mainly to test the new arcade board, because the game comes across as surprisingly low-effort. Back then, the Atomiswave hardware was expensive, so very few arcades had it, which means not many people actually got the chance to play NeoWave. I’ve even wondered if that’s why the next game was called The King of Fighters XI. Technically, it was the twelfth main entry in the series, yet SNK skipped “XII” for the numbering at that point. It almost feels as if they wanted to pretend NeoWave never happened.
