Unpopular opinion, yeah RDR2 is a prequel but I wish I played RDR1 first, the missing context makes it more mysterious and its cooler to learn the history in hindsight, and also then youre upgrading and its like "wow it looks so much better"

I honestly loved rdr1 and didn’t think it was empt or boring, there are a lot of missions? And although there’s less like side quests, you can definitely go off and see and meet and do a bunch of things

I feel it’s a representation of John’s loneliness he’s just had his family taken from him and forced back into a world he wanted to leave behind that he no longer belongs to whereas rdr2 is centered around the gang which is Arthur’s family and they end up east is a more populated area with plenty of change and opportunity
