You didn't mention it but I wonder what your thoughts are on this idea that given Villa's FFP/finances situation they could well go and splash a decent sum on one of our players, similar to the Kellyman deal we did with them? So that the £117m figure itself isn't as wild as it appears on the surface...

I still can’t believe it, this is the best and biggest attacking signing we’ve made since Lukaku post CL win. He’ll be 24 when the season starts and already delivered back to back seasons with over 15 G/A as the main man for a CL changing team. He will ONLY improve in our side + playing under Alonso will make him elite I’m certain of it. Bust potential extremely low which is why I’m absolutely over the moon.

I think the only issue is the fee. Like you said he can play across all three positions behind the ST, and is good on the half turn and tight space. the data isn't great but its not terrible. what are the alternatives in the market and are they willing to join CFC without CL? There's no need for all this negativity.

Hmm- I mean the data thing is so 50/50, Garnacho had good data but failed the eye test and the perceived litmus test for attackers- whereas Roger’s is a polar opposite
