coffee joints have a ton of regulars that sit and work with their laptops during weekdays. if they're closed on Sundays, it's probably because they've found that it's the slowest day of the week. I'm a coffeeholic. wife and I are always disappointed that we can't find a coffee spot that stays open late. I assume it's because there aren't enough of us out there to make it worth staying open

Can’t speak for every small business but a lot of coffee shops in my area are owned by Christians so they just close Sunday for all their employees

I've worked in New England and in the deep South and they're both like this, I used to think it was a religious thing, but I see it depend more on location. Coffee shops that are located in downtown areas aren't as busy on the weekends because not as many people are going to work, but coffee shops that are located near things like malls or shopping centers or even residential areas do better. they still have stupid hours but idk
