Honestly, I think most Gen X of my era simply want to do nothing when they retire after the shit show of our working years. Doesn’t help your video here, but you will hear that from a good chunk of them.

This is an interesting concept. We are generation Jones (between boomers and GenX) and fortunately have pensions. We travel in shoulder seasons and frequently go to Disney, something we didn’t get to do when we were younger.

Gen X were taking care of ourselves and others since age 7. We’ve never been able to be just kids. We had adult responsibilities our whole lives. We are reclaiming our lost childhood in retirement.

Gardening. Houseplants. Reading good books. Traveling- and it doesn’t have to be international. I just want to explore the world, people watch, listen to live music, try new food and learn new things. I have a creative side. I used to love to draw and paint. I want to go thrifting to find things that I can creatively repurpose. I want to clean and organize my whole house, including the closets, the garage and the sheds. I have so many things I want to do. I will never be bored.

Im 47yrs old, GenX, and I work from home... I have a massive garden, I take 2 vacations a year 1 with my kids and 1 on my own while they visit with their dad's family... Im not waiting until retirement to do the things I want to do

A lot of us Gen X never stopped doing our extracurricular activities, they just weren’t a full time focus. Going into retirement we are excited to spend our time fully focused on our hobbies and interests.
