@remyw.anders: College tuition is going up. College enrollment is going down. College financial aid is diminishing. The US is falling behind in innovation. The US is becoming less educated. We need to dramatically increase funding to the Pell Grant, which would give more Americans the ability to attend college and help the US lead in innovation. #PellGrant #EducationForAll #CollegeTuition
“Go into trades” is propaganda. EVERYONE should get a classical education AND a trade vocation. For free.

it's more than that, a lot of people get college degrees then can't get good jobs in the field. or they get burned out and leave quickly.

and less kids get pellets grants now because they have to provide parents income until the age of 25. They've lowered the income rate that qualifies you for a grant.

Pell Grant plus a few state grants is how I’m covering my whole public college tuition. I even do work study to cover my bills and I’m forever grateful.

Send them to Europe for uni. That’s what we did. It’s literally less than HALF of uni in the states even with travel, food and housing.

I am going to school via PELL and disability scholarship. It barely covers the minimum. How are you supposed to get a better education and job retraining if we can’t survive.

I went into the trades...... it was pointless I cant get a job in the field due to preconceived notions about women in my chosen field AND lack of jobs available 🙃 I now work as a bartender and a school crossing guard and my vocational degree is useless to me

If Trade Schools are the solution to everything why aren't Trade Schools popping up like a Starbucks or a Mcdonalds on every street corner?

Getting an education in Europe or Asia might be the new thing. For decades, China and India sent their best and brightest to the US for a good education - now it’s our turn to go seeking a better life.

as a student WHO ONLY HAS THE PELL GRANT and doesn’t even meet the eligibility for state programs, scholarships really are the backbone of it all, and this is just for community college.

college is a joke. it is so expensive, it is ruining lives. also, degrees are no longer a guarantee of any kind of life. predatory loans make sure degree recipients will never pay them off....even with a "good job."

College used to be 1,200-1,900 a semester at an Ivy League when minimum wage was 2.10 and now it’s 35-45,000 and minimum wage is 7.25… ya see where things went wrong? Colleges are price gouging as bad as memory companies.
