@coulsons.right.hand: READ THE CAPTION‼️‼️ Right now, there’s a massive epidemic of actresses losing lots and becoming increasingly thinner. I think a character like Lucy and an actress like Melissa showing the mostly teen audience of the show that it’s completely normal for your weight to fluctuate and it doesn’t make you any less fit, strong, or healthy is such important representation. It’s considered the ‘norm’ for female characters to be very thin, and if they aren’t it’s something that’s pointed out or poked fun at. Too often i see representation of curvier women where you can tell the writers are only focused on the representation itself and not the character. In my opinion, It does the opposite of representing and can make people feel singled out. I think it's so important to have characters like her where it's not even a thing that needs to be addressed in the show because no one thinks twice about it. This all comes from a girl who's chubby and grew up bigger than I am right now. I know how important it is to be represented in media, especially when the show is targeted towards teens and young adults. #therookie #fyp #viral #therookietvshow #lucychen
