I found this book randomly at a thrift store many years ago, read it and loved it. I still think of the pheasant sign regularly.

I read this because I saw the trailer too!!!!!!!!! I am really interested in how they'll do the adaptation. I think my only gripe with this book was the cavemanesque reaction to Cilla at the first sighting. but it's a male author so it didn't surprise me. (another rec for a post apocalyptic read is the ancients by John Larison - think post post apocalypse)

It was good but Far North by Marcel Theroux was better.

I really enjoyed this book, except for the way he described the woman—gave me the ick. But prob accurate honestly. 😒

I read the book because of the trailer too! I had trouble with the stream of consciousness but by the end I think the prose becomes more cohesive because he’s no longer so detached and disjointed
