We also qualify for early boarding on planes. People say it’s not necessary but if they start running out of room in the overhead bins and make you check your baggage you could be in trouble. So it guarantees your bag will be in the cabin and right where you are.

I’m from the UK and had THE best TSA encounter in San Diego. My hypo treatment is lucozade and I forgot that I had it in my backpack going through. It was unopened. I explained to the agent what it was for, showing my Libre and my prescription and said “it’s cool if you need to take it, I’ll buy something in departures”. He looked at me as if I was a lunatic and said “we don’t take things from people that could save their lives”. Genuinely felt so grateful that I sent an email of thanks to the airport and called him out when I got home. It’s harder here in the UK, I basically have to give blood to get any TSA equivalent to believe me 🤣

I had a ranger at a national park ask me to "prove" i was disabled to get in for free 🙃 i was 14

Re: national parks: if you are there in person you don’t even need a doctor’s note (which my doc wouldn’t give bc “we don’t want to take resources from others wtf). I just showed them my pump and she was like “yep! That counts!” And it has an owl on it! 😍

I went to Mount St. Helens this summer and asked how to get a pass bc I didn’t have a dr note. When they asked for note I said, I didn’t know I needed one but I can show you my insulin pump and cgm. 😂 Gave me one on the spot. 🙌🏻
