It is exactly like the stages of grief. It’s messy, and there’s not just one way to go about it. Not one therapist or group, it’s multiple trying. It’s one step forward, two steps back. And then there’s the time I took alone and away from others. And it feels like coming out of a cave, and then you can see the real things that matter, and who you have always been. And I felt I can be capable, hopeful and plan. That’s not to say that triggers don’t happen, sometimes the rage comes out of nowhere(well somewhere), but you think you can keep yourself. And then rage hits. It is like mourning a death.

Spot on! Gratefully finding joy again in the midst of the journey. Mom is being very well cared for in a skilled nursing facility and I don’t have to engage. I am choosing to forgive and boy, what a load off my shoulders! People still judge me but I’m no longer affected by their ignorance. Jesus and therapy is my best advice.

I’ve been going through some of the things you’ve mentioned. However, I’m not sure my daughter is narcissist. She abused me every time she had a new relationship. The last time I couldn’t take it anymore and I walked out never looking back.
