I found a dead iPad at work. I charged it and called "Mom" in the contacts. doesn't always work because of password protection but once charged, you can at least answer it when someone calls

Why would they have turned it in if they want it so bad?

I found a phone at a State Fair once and when someone called it they screamed at me for "stealing their phone." Ma'am if I was doing that why did I answer it?! When they paused to take a breath I told them it was at the State Police trailer cuz I was not dealing with that.

so I started my job in March, there has been car keys, four wallets and three IDs in my safe at work, and apparently theyve been there a year. like we keep it for eternity I guess, never would we give that stuff out

Dose no one try and call the emergency contact? Or even see if it has a password? (I've called every time someone left a phone)

I work retail and people do in fact sometimes never come back for their phones. Our store has probably 10 phones nobody came back for just from this year.

I would have just said yup, let them write it down and then toss it in the trash when they left, then handed the phone off to the police

I just want to say I love your videos. It reminds me of when I was working at Robinson's May in the mid 90's. I was fashion jewelry which included watches, handbags, hosiery, and the women's section (like Layne Bryant/Woman's World kind of knish). I can relate to these characters all too well. Love it!!🥰🥰

one of the places I worked would turn them in to the police if they weren't picked up within a specific amount of days.

Not to mention, even if the owner buys a new phone, you'd still be giving a device with someone's personal information on it. Even if you wipe the phone first, there is still personal information they can get a hold of.

that last part. just take it if youre gonna try to steal it anyway. I worked at a gas station and a guy tried to steal cigarettes, asked me what Id do if he just walked out, I said nothing, he gave me the cigarettes back then tried to convince me to just give them to him, like nah, now I would be stealing, before it was just you. 🤣
