Any time I criticize things like drunk yoga or corporate yoga studios banning Sanskrit, someone is up in my comments telling me to practice non attachment or to let it go. I understand they’re most likely using aparigraha as their argument basis. But aparigraha does NOT mean bypassing. I’ll never “let it go” when it comes to upholding the roots of the yogic practice. Because when we strip yoga of its roots, it’s no longer yoga... its movement that’s inspired by yoga. 🫠 Honoring the roots of yoga isn’t a bad attachment. It’s my privilege and responsibility as a yoga teacher & yoga studio owner.
