Adam, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing something so honest and vulnerable. There are a lot of people who aren’t ready to date that continue to invite people into places they can’t emotionally hold. It takes courage to say, “This is where I’m at.” I hope you give yourself the same grace that you’d give someone else. Your priorities aren’t something to feel guilty about—they’re simply the season you’re in right now. The right people won’t be upset by honesty, and the people who are meant to be in your life will appreciate that you chose truth over pretending. Don’t let guilt convince you that you have less to offer because you’re saying “not right now.” Protecting your peace and being faithful to what’s in front of you is a gift too. Praying God continues to give you clarity, peace, and the freedom to lay down any unnecessary guilt. One season doesn’t define the whole story. You’re allowed to take the time you need.
