Cause the earth 🌍 is between the sun and moon which is why you only see part of the moon and even at night time it does same thing the earth shadow that covers the part of the moon

I think that might have been a result of you turning the camera around in an arc rather than following a line directly between sun and moon. The viewer loses reference of where the sun is relative to the moon.
