For a long time, I believed that if I wanted more, I wasn’t being grateful. More peace. More time. More financial security. More freedom. I thought I should just work hard, be thankful for what I had, and stop wanting anything beyond that. But the more time I spent in God’s Word, the more my perspective changed. I realized God isn’t against wealth. He’s against making money our god. He’s against greed. He’s against putting our trust in money instead of Him. Those are two very different things. “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” 3 John 1:2 “The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” Proverbs 10:22 “Remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” Deuteronomy 8:18 “You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion…” 2 Corinthians 9:11 Those verses reminded me that God gives us gifts, opportunities, and abilities for a reason. Not so we can hold tightly to them. But so we can steward them well. So we can bless our families. So we can give generously. So we can support His Kingdom. So we can live with more peace instead of constant financial stress. I don’t believe every Christian is called to build a business. But I do believe we should be willing to use the abilities God has given us. For me, learning how to build income online has become one way of doing that. Not because money is the goal. Because stewardship is. If you’ve been praying for more options before retirement, maybe this is your reminder to stay open to the opportunities God places in front of you.
