I imagine sue’s body started to become transparent layer by layer. First her skin disappeared, then the muscle, the nervous system, her skeleton, then her organs. It may not have been painful but it would definitely be traumatic

sues power of invisibility goes deeper than just going invisible she has light manipulation so she wasn't only going invisible but who knows what she was seeing since the human brain can only comprehend visuals through light rays she either completely lost he sense of sight which out of nowhere is terrifying or she was saying light rays like crazy

“Sue got the best one” no she literally thought she was disappearing into nothing, not to mention she was the first to show effects. Ben’s is the only one that caused actually pain, Johnny in the original comic got over the fact he was on fire rather quickly, and reed kinda just started melting(stretching, but melting sounds funnier). BUT there is a comic that explains their mental effect as well which I find really cool! It explains how(and this is only in one comic I’ve seen) Johnny couldn’t convince his mind to believe he wasn’t actually burning alive for about half an hour. It’s not actual pain, but the mind tricks you into thinking it is, which could be the same for reed and sue. Maybe sue was scared one day she’d actually disappear, maybe reed was scared he’d become boneless and left as some fleshy puddle, and we already see how Ben’s transformation effects him mentally.
