the Amazon rainforest is not even close to being 100% discovered it is pitch black in most areas because of the foliage density with animals, plant species and tribes we don't know exist yet. Most species in the amazon are poisonus or venomous btw..even if your plane crash landed in the Forrest the odds of you being found are 0% because if a plan Flys over it can not see you. If a signal is sent put the smoke or flare will not reach the surface, if you start a fire, you are dying off suffocation. You are more likely to be found in the ocean sending out distress signals that can be seen, you may have enough connection to request help, your navigator if you have one is more likely to still work and point you north, you can survive without water in open water for 3-5 days you will not last 24hrs in the Amazon rainforest.

assuming if you're just plopped into the middle of either one, rainforest. if a plane crashed in standard fashion with all provisions that come with, ocean. odds are you're closer to a shipping lane in the ocean than you are to pretty much any major civilisation in the Amazon

my country is 90+% covered by the Amazon rainforest and I will happily jump into the middle of the Ocean before going into the Amazon. the ocean is scary because it's nothing and unexpected,the Amazon will have something ready to kill you every turn you make. you can survive in the ocean but you won't be able to survive in the Amazon for more than 2 days because you would have to be constantly moving because the Amazon never sleeps and gets worse the darker it gets. so for me I will choose the ocean before I ever dare take foot in that damned rainforest

You have a higher probability of survival in a plane crash in the ocean than the Amazon rainforest. Planes typically transit above shipping lanes, plus the plane has rafts and other items meant to aid in survival.

This is the back of earth’s head. You’re not swimming from here to anywhere. Yeah the Amazon rainforest would suck but you might at least live long enough to eat the wrong mushroom and die.

I think yall are underestimating how easy it is to die in the rainforest 😭 the ants would kill you, the frogs would kill you, the plants would kill you, the ridiculous terrain would kill you, shi theres baboons in the rainforest 😭
