If Justin Fields ever wins a playoff game as a starting QB, I'll eat a refrigerator

I will not fall for Justin Fields propaganda. I stg people have been saying this stuff every year for the past 4ish years. Yes he can make good plays, but he overwhelmingly doesn’t make good plays even with simplified offenses.

Man stop it. All those guys could throw the ball. Fields cannot.

fields ain’t a pocket passer like darnold, he’s a running back cosplaying as a qb

I only find it silly to say he's the next one because no shot he gets a chance before Mac Jones lol.. plus Fields needs a year on the 49ers to get there lmao

My biggest concern would be tendencies. You didn’t mention pressure to sack rate. I’m assuming that’s still pretty bad. And to be completely honest 0% INT rate is a red flag for me. Look at Mariota‘s last year in Tennessee. It implies extreme conservative play.

He refuses to throw the ball. He holds it for so long

J Cline :
he took a 9.5 second sack last season where his first and second read were both there

I think Mac Jones is a better candidate for a breakout than Fields. But I also think it happens too rarely for it to actually happen for either of them. Organizations are much more likely to jump at the opportunity for the shiny new upcoming toys than the ones that other teams have already cast aside: Manning, Moore, Carr, and Sayin are all most likely declaring next year.

I understand the rationale, but I just don’t think his skillset is going to age well enough. He relies on his dual threat ability and that’s only going to decline in the coming years. Even if he continues to improve on the mental side, so much of his game is predicated on him being a better athlete than everyone else on the field that I can’t really envision him being a winning player in his 30s.

The difference between the two is the Fields has never adapted to playing in the pocket. Watching him on film showcases his inability to stay still when his first read isn’t available that’s why he far exceeds any other QB in terms of holding onto the ball
