@ownownownownownown: In autumn 2007, Lionel Messi was photographed bathing six-month-old Lamine Yamal in a small blue plastic tub placed on the floor of the visitors' locker room at Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium. The images, taken by photographer Joan Monfort during a charity calendar shoot organised by Diario Sport and UNICEF, show Messi bathing the baby, posing with Yamal's mother, Sheila Ebana, and a smiling Yamal, and carrying him. The photos resurfaced and went viral in July 2024 during the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament after Yamal's father posted them on Instagram with the caption "The beginning of two legends," just days before Spain's semifinal against France, where 16-year-old Yamal scored the opening goal and became the youngest goalscorer in UEFA European Championship history. Today, 19 July 2026, Messi and Yamal will face each other in the FIFA World Cup final at New York-New Jersey Stadium, with 39-year-old Messi captaining Argentina against 19-year-old Yamal and Spain. #worldcup #messi #lamineyamal #USA #football
