@willwanderforfood: Summer in 42 plates. The team behind San Francisco’s most creative tasting menus just launched its most ambitious yet. It’s a playful, nostalgic journey through summer. Dinner starts outdoors, so bring a jacket because… SF. The first half is a Southern barbecue, reimagined through dozens of tiny plates. Think avocado corndogs, sweet tea sorbet, chicken fried green tomato, short rib chili, and smoky BBQ ribs. Then you head inside for a summer drive-in movie. Some “desserts” look sweet but turn out to be savory, including my favorite bite of the night: a tuna sandwich macaron. Is this a purse? Nope, it’s a dried watermelon, a playful riff on Japanese hoshigaki. The tableside sweet corn ice cream with poundcake and chili lime was the perfect ending.
