BS. 401Ks make people lots of money. They’re tax free and the market gains compound that money. Along with social security, people should be able to retire comfortably.

401k should not be mandatory..gov jobs (non politicians) are being forced to have this instead of a normal pension now. All jobs should provide a pension..period!

I was a machinist and eventually an industrial engineer. Put 10% in 401k with 6% company match for 35 years. It worked for me. Retired at 59. It can be done but requires a lot of discipline. Everybody situation is different for sure.

This is why I stopped contributing to 401K, and instead have that same amount put into a Roth IRA and diversify 🤓

401k is not tax free. You will be taxed when you take money out. If you save and buy a rental property. You will always have income coming in and the house value always goes up. Real estate makes way more than 10% a year

I encourage people to not listen to this and invest in your 401k. it is an amazing way for common people to build wealth. If you’re not making $125,000+ a year, you’re common people lol, put the money in early when you start working at 22 or so and every subsequent paycheck thereafter and let those 40 years you work work for you too. I promise anyone that poo poos 401k’s either are bitter they didn’t or they’re trying to sell you something. Put the money in!
