something i’ve also been thinking is that the audience they have is not the audience they WANT. given their music, style, “aesthetic”, etc. you can easily tell their target audience isn’t teenage girls with posters of them all over the bedrooms. i’ve seen coers talk about how happy the boys seem to get when they notice fanboys and that’s because that is who they’re making music for. they want mosh pits, rap fans, more males in their audience, etc. k-pop fans aren’t that. i’ve always said cortis feels like a group of those high school soundcloud rappers except they actually have the budget and support.
