When I was a little girl, my dad - who was Catholic - and my mother - who was Methodist - used to TRY to make me go to church with them. A trade off each week, if you will. When I went with my dad, the services were still in Latin. With all the up & down on knees, amens, etc. I could NOT for the life of me understand what the heck was going on! And it seemed to me that all the people there just were responding like robots. From memory of what they were told to do by their parents. I finally asked my dad if he understood anything that the priest said, and he responded honestly that he really didn’t. So, being a precocious child, I said, “Then what’s the point?! If you don’t know what’s being said, what are you responding to???” My dad nearly drive off the road laughing!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 He never made me go again!

I was removed from the CCD classes for asking questions too and sat in the lobby with a nun instead. Just wanted it to make sense but it never did.

I took a business course at a Christian college. And we had to take one religion course. I loved world religion in college so I was happy to. Anyhow I asked too many questions also. Was told I needed saved and then was asked not to come back following semester. All for genuine questions.
