its so bad the whole point of the bed is that she is afraid its just the gods tormenting her or Zeus trying to share Penelope bed by acting like he is Odysseus so the olive tree bed is a test to see if its really him

the fact he removed the parts where Odysseus intelligence was demonstrated the most since at the start of the poem it says that he has the same intelligence as Zeus the king of the gods, and also the part of the olive tree bed is very important cause, this is the part where Penelope intelligence is at the same level of his husband

It's almost impossible to take something great like the Odyssey and translate it into a movie without losing some details, but i do agree that the scenes that were cut out would've made this movie even more of a masterpiece.

And they removed the lotus eaters, the whole "nobody" with Polyphemus, the importance of most of the Gods, the bag of winds, the importance of almost every single female character, etc etc

do people forget that this is a adaptation? it quite literally does not have to be the exact same. if you want the original story, than read the original publication, this was Nolan's adaptation...

it's almost like an adaptation doesn't have to follow the original story with complete accuracy... I don't know why people keep projecting these discrepancies onto Nolan, he never once said this is going to be a 1 to 1 remake

The Athena pin was for this purpose. The movie isn't going to be exactly the same as the poems. Thats the nature of film making.

Fot the first time in a while, a Nolan movie didn’t drag itself. It felt very well paced, something was always happening. So i think that him proving himself by the bow trial and by having the pin (the golden thing, not sure what the word is) was more than enough
