@humanebroward: He just wants to be needed 🙏💔 Castor is a handsome 5-year-old German Shepherd with so much heart 💙 We are told he was once trained as a seizure-response service dog (we do not have any certificate or documentation), Castor is incredibly intelligent, loyal, and eager to please 🙏 Though life took an unexpected turn when his owner could no longer care for him, Castor has never lost his pride, gentle spirit, or love for people 🥹 This sweet boy is wonderfully friendly with everyone he meets and has a history of getting along beautifully with other animals. In fact, some of his best friends included a cat, a Chihuahua, and even a duck! Castor loves to run, learn, and spend time with his people ❤️ He’s very food motivated, and he already knows sit, stay, paw, and up. He’ll even scratch at the door to let you know when he needs to go outside. Because of his large size, Castor would do best with older children, but he truly has a kind and affectionate nature. He is the type of dog who wants to be part of the family ❤️ Castor was surrendered to the shelter with a two-year history of intermittent skin and ear issues. Upon intake, he was suffering from severe ear and skin infections, hair loss, and skin thickening. Thanks to treatment, he is feeling much more comfortable 🙏 It is possible that Castor has underlying allergies and his future family should be prepared for ongoing monitoring and care of his skin and ears ❤️‍🩹 Despite these challenges, Castor remains the loving, resilient, and devoted dog he has always been. He deserves a family who will cherish him, continue his care, and give him the second chance he’s been waiting for.
