RN in Bay Area, make over $220k (but I’m experienced over 20yrs) but our new grads start out making around $80/hr. Cost of living is higher, but it’s very doable & gives you a very nice lifestyle. You just have to know how to budget & be wise with your money! Plus CA is best for nurses with safety for the nurse! And some places like (UC system - where I work) we have great benefits & a solid good pension plan!

yeah my daughter is a BSN in CA. she makes over $60 an hour and can barely afford to live in San Diego. annual salary doesn't mean shit compared to cost of living in CA

CA, HI, OR & WA have Kaiser Permanente and many of their nurses are union I believe. It’s why they get paid so well in those states.

You have to compare cost of living. Those salaries may look attractive but if a starter home is 2.5 mil that 150.000 won’t go too far
