That’s nerve pain. Mine lasted 2 weeks and it just stopped as quickly as it started. It felt just like that.

My nerve endings are dead right at the top of my finger where my new finger grew over the top of the bone - I have no padding & no pain 20 years later 👍🏻😊

Had my big toe amputated last fall. My dr prescribed Lyrica and it was a life saver for the nerve pain. My nerve pain lessened over time, and I’m fine now. I hope you find relief! You described the pain so perfectly!

Not an amputee, but I had nerve surgery on my hand. The random electric bone deep pain for me peaked at 2-4 weeks and has since steadily recovered! I’m on month 4 and just have damp sensation now instead of pain.

I was told the zaps and shocks are the nerves tendons and whatever reconnecting… it feels very weird and painful.. drink lots of water, and when it gets bad move around however you can. It stops it for a bit ❤️

I felt the same thing in a couple of my toes after a pretty nasty puncture wound (obviously not as bad as your fingers) but I was told I would most likely have long term nerve pain from it. I ended up losing sensation in 3 of my toes. Obviously not the best case scenario but better than nerve pain. Praying you don’t have to go through either of those ❤️

Phantom pains are the worst. Mine subsided after a time. I’m over a decade from my amputation and they only happen rarely now.

It takes time for nerve pain to heal (and I didn’t go through anything this severe) - in my case, maybe 4 months 🫶🫶

Out of curiosity, no pressure to answer: When you say the pain is in the tips of your fingers, is it the current tips or the former tips that are mentally registering the pain?
