Anyone who paid attention in school realizes that Ancient Greece was filled with people of all different skin tones based on its location. It’s on the MF Mediterranean. Super close to Africa, while also having northern regions that can lend to more of a neutral/white skin tone. Having a black Helen of Troy is actually incredibly accurate. Also, ITS FICTION. I wonder where everyone was when they cast an Australian as “Nordic” Thor in Marvel. 🙄🙄

I’m a professional classical musician. There is a whole subset of the nerdiest of us, who are super into period music. I honestly used to be like - oh those period instrumentalists are huge nerds - and now I think there so fucking cook. And this is why. They are doing crazy interesting historian work and then making it come ALIVE!! It’s hard to make visual art live and breathe the way we can make music. This shit is cool
