I’m confused…because anger is a normal human emotion, so trying to control your anger in situations when it’s necessary is you being less human😂

I agree!! I explain it as: if someone tells me (a brunette) they think my red hair is looks bad, I wouldn’t get angry bc I know I don’t have red hair. I can still think it’s harsh way of expressing their opinion, but it doesn’t strike me bc I know I don’t have red hair.

You’ve gone too far down the rabbit hole. Lashing out in anger is also fine. Context matters

Idk I’m angry at Netanyahu because I hate when kids get murdered, I know that about myself and I’m still angry.

idk man, sounds like the self awareness only removes the shock factor, not the anger or the reaction. i could be driving knowing full well there’s construction on the roads, and still get frustrated about it. i wouldn’t be surprised, but every other emotion remains.

but it's impossible to fully know yourself, especially as you're constantly changing as a person. there can be triggers that youre aware of based on events that have happened in the past, but some situations are entirely new where you can't really figure out why it got you so upset because that event has never happened before

id say a lot of times this is true. but there are rare occasions where it is completely warranted.
